The International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP) is a professional member association formed in 2005 and registered as a not-for-profit under Section 501(c)(6) of the US Internal Revenue Code. View Bylaws.


Vision:

To become the leading global authority on the ethical and effective communication of medical research to inform treatment decisions.

Mission:

Advance the medical publication and communication professions globally through:

  • enhanced integrity and transparency in medical publications and wider communications,
  • improved standards and best practices,
  • education, advocacy, and professional collaborations.


Our Members

ISMPP’s membership has grown to more than 2,200 with representation from all stakeholders involved in the publication of medical research, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and device companies, medical publication and communication agencies, medical journal publishers and editors, and professional medical writers.

Certification Program

ISMPP has implemented a certification program that offers medical publication professionals an opportunity to earn the recently established Certified Medical Publication Professional™ (CMPP™, pronounced See-Map) credential. More than 50 percent of ISMPP’s members are ISMPP CMPP™ certified.
